Between Us and the Trees:
Conversations in The Secret Language of Nature

BACKGROUND:
In “The Hidden Life of Trees: What They Feel, What They Communicate – Discoveries from a Secret World,” forest scientist Peter Wohlleben writes about the secret language of the trees, the forest ecosystems and the fungal communication of the ancient forests. Through the exploration of communication systems between the trees the botanical world and us, members of Los Angeles Printmaking Society & special guests will investigate the themes of plant intelligence, hidden communication and the transcendent connections between us and the natural world.

We hope to challenge our membership to explore this theme and take this as an opportunity to push the limits of printmaking and their own artistic practice. This  exhibition will include the best in both traditional and experimental techniques in contemporary printmaking, including works on paper, installation, and other multi-media approaches to printmaking. Printmaking should be the primary process used to create the work for jury. Work that does not need a wall is also encouraged.
